VDC’s Young Children’s Division is designed specifically for students ages 2 - 6.5 where students learn the fundamentals of proper and safe dance technique through our innovative and creative curriculum. Students gain confidence, improve listening skills, spatial awareness and use their imaginations while developing strength, flexibility and coordination. Storybooks, costumes, props and music enhance the curriculum and provide a perfect introduction to the world of dance. 45-minute weekly classes consist of sing-song dances, ballet fundamentals in the center and across the floor, choreography set to upbeat music and the incorporation of props and stories from some of the most famous ballets. Each week dancers will work to learn and rehearse choreography to present in a mini performance for family and friends at the end of the Session!
